Dennis Lind Takes All in the Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo at Paul Ricard
• The Dane is the new leader in the PRO class
• Victory for Rik Breukers among PRO-AM drivers
• Desideri and Spirindov in first place at the debut in AM
Sant'Agata Bolognese/Le Castellet, June 26, 2016
Mission accomplished for Dennis Lind, who won the two races at Paul Ricard, thus getting a poker of wins. The Dane has so far needed a success in Race 2 which had escaped him in the previous rounds at Monza and Silverstone. In France, during the third of the six rounds of the Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo Europe, the twenty-three-year-old driver of the team Raton Racing managed to break the "spell" by starting from the pole position and getting his fourth success (after the one conquered on Saturday), thus jumping to the top of the PRO ranking with nine points of advantage over Vito Postiglione.
The Italian of Imperiale Racing was also a protagonist: he arrived second in Race1 and today he has been struggling for supremacy until a problem to the rear left wheel forced him into an unscheduled pit stop less than ten minutes from the end, while he was in the wake of Lind, thus finishing in sixth position.
It was then the nineteen-year-old Croatian Martin Kodric (Bonaldi Motorsport) who inherited his position and finished on the podium again, after the third place scored yesterday. Behind him the Latvian Harald Schlegelmilch (Artline Team Georgia), whereas the new crew formed by Rolf Ineichen and the new entry Jeroen Bleekemolen finished in fourth position again with the colors of Bonaldi Motorsport.
Remarkable fifth place overall of Rik Breukers, who has been promoted in the PRO-AM class from this race, where he immediately stood out by getting his fourth success, if we consider the three victories obtained in the AM class. An extraordinary result for the eighteen-year-old Dutchman of GDL Racing (author of the second fastest time in Q2), who has just joined the Young Drivers Program of Lamborghini Squadra Corse, according to the championship, but he is only one point ahead of the other duo of Bonaldi Motorsport formed by Adrian Amstutz and Patrick Kujala. The latter was the protagonist of an extraordinary second driving "stint" which led him to get the third place in his class, just behind Nicolas Armindo and Henry Hassid (Konrad Motorsport).
Debut and victory among the AM drivers for Matteo Desideri, in the same crew as Mikhail Spiridonov on one of the cars of the team Antonelli Motorsport. The Italian, currently second in the Super GT Cup class in the Italian GT Championship, in which he also participates with a Lamborghini Huracán LP 620-2 Super Trofeo, was at his debut on the track of Le Castellet. Second place for Amir Krenzia (Vincenzo Sospiri Racing), whereas the Swiss Philipp Schlegel (Sportec Motorsport), also at his debut in the one-make series reserved to the cars of the brand of Sant'Agata Bolognese, finished on the podium again by arriving third, after the victory obtained in Race 1.
Two class victories out of two races for the Englishman of Toro Loco, Tim Richard, who managed to strengthen his leadership in the Lamborghini Cup.
The next "verdict" will be at Spa, in just over one month. It will be the historic and fascinating Belgian track to host the fourth round in calendar on the same weekend as the 24 hours of the Blancpain GT series, the last week of July.
