The Lamborghini Huracán GT3 has won in the International GT Open for the second time in a row. After getting the 2016 title of the European series with Orange 1 Team Lazarus, this year is the turn of Imperiale Racing: on the Barcelona circuit, which hosted the last round of the series, the Emilian team put the seal on the 2017 title with the car #63, whose cockpit was shared by the Factory Drivers of Lamborghini Squadra Corse Marco Mapelli and Giovanni Venturini, with the latter leading the championship standings.

The 2017 title of the International GT Open arrived after a season. during which Imperiale Racing Team has achieved successes almost in every round of the championship with their 2 Huracán GT3s plus a third car fielded since the Silverstone round. The car# 63, with Giovanni Venturini first with Thomas Biagi as a co-driver and then with Marco Mapelli, scored points in every race, taking 2 wins (Hungaroring Race 1 and Barcelona Race 1) and 4 second places (Estoril, Paul Ricard, Silverstone and Monza), thus finishing the season with 114 points, 8 ahead of its direct pursuers, the BMW M6 GT3.

It has been a positive season also for the other drivers of Imperiale Racing Team, starting from Thomas Biagi who finished in fourth place to the expert Vito Postiglione, still fighting for the Lamborqhini Super Trofeo Europe, who concluded the championship in eleventh position after the last round in Barcelona, with the Lamborqhini Factory Driver Christian Enqelhart as a co driver.

For the Lamborqhini Huracán GT3, the 2017 season has been another year of growth, not only in terms of attendance in the various GT championships around the world (about 60 Huracán GT3s racing in 12 international and national series), but above all in terms of sporting results.

The GT car of Sant'Aqata Bolognese has won a total of 8 titles, three in team rankings and five in driver standings: Grasser Racinq Team in the Blancpain GT Series, Barwell Motorsport in the British GT Championship and Imperiale Racing in the International GT Open. The driver titles, instead, have been taken in the Blancpain GT Series overall and Endurance (Bertolotti, Caldarelli and Engelhart), Italian GT Championship (Beretta and Frassineti), International GT Open (Venturini) and Michelin GT3 Le Mans Cup (Babini and Busnelli).
