Sant’Agata Bolognese/Campagnano di Roma, May 5 2019 – Vito Postiglione and Jeroen Mul claimed victory in the first round of the 2019 Italian GT Championship Sprint season at Vallelunga at the wheel of the #63 Imperiale Racing Lamborghini Huracán GT3 EVO.

The Italian veteran and Dutchman Mul backed up a comfortable win in the first race with an impressive second in Race 2 to top the standings ahead of the next round at Imola in June.

Postiglione and Mul started Race 1 third on the grid but quickly made ground on those in front, with Postiglione taking the lead from poleman Andrea Fontana on the third lap. Despite a safety car intervention on the eighth lap compressing the field, the #63 Lamborghini Huracán was largely untroubled after Mul took over from Postiglione. The 28-year-old Dutch driver extended the lead at the front and headed Riccardo Agostini's Mercedes by 17s at the finish.

Mul started the wet second race alongside Agostini on the front row and held third place ahead of the driver change pit-stops. Postiglione then took over and put in a solid second stint of the race to finish a deserved runner-up to Agostini.

Meanwhile, Lamborghini Factory Driver Mirko Bortolotti and team-mate Christian Engelhart claimed a podium at the end of the opening Blancpain GT World Challenge Europe race at Brands Hatch, finishing third. The #63 Grasser Racing Team Lamborghini Huracán GT3 EVO duo drove a somewhat lonely race, with Engelhart finishing adrift of the second placed Black Falcon Mercedes AMG of Luca Stolz and Maro Engel, but well clear of fourth placed Vincent Abril and Raffaele Marciello in the AKKA ASP Mercedes AMG. In the second race the #563 Orange1 FFF Racing Lamborghini squad finished as runner-up from 11th on the grid, thanks to a great comeback by Factory Drivers Andrea Caldarelli and Marco Mapelli.

Elsewhere, Takashi Kogure and Yuya Motojima finished third in the second SuperGT GT300 race at Fuji, at the wheel of #88 Manepa Lamborghini Huracán GT3 EVO.
