Automobili Lamborghini was founded by Ferruccio Lamborghini in 1963 in Sant'Agata Bolognese, where it remains to this day. At the company’s plant, 25 kilometers north of Bologna, approximately 3,000 employees build the iconic super sports cars on the assembly lines that are still in their original location.
In 1963, Ferruccio Lamborghini, an entrepreneur with remarkable mechanical expertise, was passionate to redefine the potential of sports cars. Driven to innovate, he found the brand and build a new factory in the small town of Sant'Agata Bolognese. One year later, the first car in production was the V12 350 GT, followed by the Miura, which initiated Automobili Lamborghini’s tradition of naming cars after fighting bulls. Historically, the House of Sant’Agata Bolognese constantly pioneered through features like scissor doors (Countach), all-wheel-drive systems (Diablo), or carbon fiber monocoques (Murciélago), continuing Ferruccio’s legacy of innovation.
Today, the product range includes three models along with exclusive, limited editions. The cars in production are the first V12 HPEV (High Performance Electrified Vehicle) Revuelto[1]; the first plug-in hybrid Urus SE[2] Super SUV; and the new, class-beating HPEV Temerario[3]. With this lineup, the House of Sant’Agata Bolognese is leading as the first super sports car manufacturer with a fully hybrid fleet, poised to continue decarbonization in alignment with the sustainability strategy Direzione Cor Tauri. Automobili Lamborghini plans to expand its lineup with a fully electric GT 2+2 model (preceded by the Lanzador concept car) by the end of the decade.
Every Lamborghini is easily recognizable by their inimitable bold lines, dimensions and surfaces. At Centro Stile, the company’s design center, the Lamborghini design DNA, built on shapes like the Y and hexagon, is created to complement the engineer’s technology. The unique DNA is further enhanced through the Ad Personam program, which enables customers to individualize vehicles entirely as one of a kind. The brand’s distinctive design, artistically and technically, is a key quality for Automobili Lamborghini, establishing it as one of the most sought-after brands.
While flourishing as an enterprise, the company is executing on the sustainability strategy Direzione Cor Tauri, as a part of the largest financial undertaking in its history. Automobili Lamborghini takes a holistic approach, moving through the entire supply chain network to the vehicle’s use phase. Beyond its facilities and products, Automobili Lamborghini has established an environment that promotes physical and mental well-being, work-life balance, and a firm commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. As a result, the House of Sant'Agata Bolognese has been recognized as a “Top Employer Italy” for the eleventh consecutive year.

Beyond the GT world, in 2024, Lamborghini Squadra Corse marked its debut in the LMDh category with the SC63, competing in the historic 24h Le Mans; a milestone for the company. In the future, the Huracán GT3 EVO2 will be replaced by the new V8 hybrid model of Lamborghini, the Temerario, opening the next chapter of performance, reliability and emotion in motorsport out the House of Sant’Agata Bolognese.
