Sant’Agata Bolognese, 7 September 2021 – Lamborghini has unveiled the calendar for the 2022 Super Trofeo Europe season, the 14th in the history of the one-make GT series dedicated for Lamborghini Huracán Super Trofeo Evo cars. Across six rounds, a total of 12 races and 600 minutes of competition will be disputed at some of Europe’s most prestigious circuits.
Next year’s championship will also be an historic one, as the new for 2022 Lamborghini Super Trofeo EVO2 car will make its racing debut at the opening round of the year in April. Super Trofeo is also proud to continue its association with the Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe Powered by AWS, the highly competitive GT racing series organised by SRO Motorsports Group and of which Lamborghini Squadra Corse has been a partner since its inaugural edition in 2009.
The 2022 season will therefore kick off at Monza on the weekend of 8-10 April, with the Temple of Speed again taking its place as the curtain raiser for the European series as it did this year. This home round for the Sant’Agata Bolognese firm is followed by a trip across the border to Paul Ricard in France on the weekend of 2-4 June.
Then, it is back to Italy and Misano – the venue for this season’s Lamborghini Super Trofeo World Finals – at the start of July, which will feature one race under the night-time lights and another in daylight. Following the second Italian round, the traditional visit to Spa-Francorchamps in July – supporting the 24 Hours of Spa – for the fourth round. The Belgian circuit is the only venue to have featured in every Super Trofeo season.
Barcelona hosts the penultimate round of the year on 30 September-2 October, retaining its place on the calendar after making a welcome return to the schedule last year, following a three-year stint between 2009 and 2011.
As ever, the final round plus the Lamborghini Super Trofeo World Finals will conclude the campaign, with the venue due to be announced formally at this year’s season-closing World Finals at Misano Adriatico, which will take place between 29 and 31 October.
