• Two cars of Grasser Racing Team dominate from pole position to victory at the Nürburgring

It was a great race weekend for Lamborghini Squadra Corse. In addition to the triple commitment of the Blancpain Super Trofeo one-make series, with the Huracans engaged simultaneously at the Nürburgring in Germany, at Fuji in Japan and at the COTA in the United States, the brand of Sant'Agata Bolognese was also protagonist in two major GT championships: the Blancpain GT Series Endurance Cup, with the first victory of the season for the Grasser Racing Team’s Huracán GT3, and in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship thanks to the second position of Paul Miller Racing in the Lone Star Le Mans, which took place at the Circuit of the Americas in Texas.
During the race weekend at the Nürburgring, last round of the Blancpain GT Series Endurance Cup, the two Lamborghinis fielded by Grasser Racing Team have dominated the track since the Pre-Qualifying session on Saturday afternoon. Lamborghini GT3 Factory Driver Mirko Bortolotti behind the wheel of the No. 16 car, in fact, set a sensational 1'55"022 (last year the Italian driver signed the pole position on the same track), the quickest time among the 54 GT3 cars lined up on the grid.
The other Huracán GT3 of Grasser Racing Team (# 19), with GT3 Junior Driver Luca Stolz behind the wheel, claimed the pole position dominating the official qualifying, held on Sunday morning in a single session after the cancellation of the first two due to the bad weather.
At the beginning of the race, Mirko Bortolotti (P5 on grid) gained immediately three positions and started the pursuit of the sister car driven by Stolz. After few laps Bortolotti took the lead and since that time the Huracán GT3 number 16 has continuously dominated all the three hours of the race, thanks to the perfect team strategy and the excellent race pace by all the crew, formed by Mirko Bortolotti, Rolf Ineichen and Christian Engelhart. The latter, author of the third and final stint of driving, was coldly proficient with a great defensive driving towards the WRT’s Audi R8 LMS attacks, second at the end behind the Huracán GT3.
Good race also for the Lamborghini number 19 of Luca Stolz, Michele Beretta and Andrea Piccini ,that finished in sixth place overall after the 84 laps of the race.
SECOND CONSECUTIVE PODIUM IN THE IMSA WEATHERTECH
A few hours earlier, at the Circuit of The Americas in Texas, United States, another Huracán GT3 hit the podium. It was the number 48 of the Paul Miller Racing team, committed in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship and coming from a victory in GTD class during the last round at Virginia International Raceway. In the Lone Star Le Mans, 2 hours and 40 minutes endurance race, the Lamborghini shared by GT3 Junior Driver Madison Snow and Bryan Sellers conquered the second place in GTD class, thus hitting his third podium of the season.
