Miami, Florida, 11 December 2018 – Celebrating The Wolfsonian–FIU and Lamborghini’s mutual affection for Italian culture, the iconic manufacturer was featured at an illustrious evening of design, manufacturing and Italian excellence, Made in Italy: Made for Miami.

The Lamborghini Urus was the center piece during a private VIP unveiling commemorating Made in Italy: MITA Textile Design 1926–1976, the newest art installation at The Wolfsonian situated in Miami’s Art Deco district.
The museum was the perfect backdrop for the first-ever Super Sport Utility Vehicle. The occasion also coincided with Art Basel Miami Beach, one of the world’s most notable art exhibitions.

“We are very proud to take part in Art Basel Miami Beach,” stated Stefano Domenicali, President and CEO of Automobili Lamborghini. “It’s in Lamborghini’s DNA to be an integral part of modern and contemporary art.”

“At this year’s Art Basel,” Domenicali further explained, “we shared our vision of Automobili Lamborghini, where history, modernity and contemporaneity are the synthesis of this vision. We are very pleased to be doing all of this in collaboration with a prestigious museum like The Wolfsonian and, as is by now the usual practice, working together with our institutions in the United States. We aim to create a true world calendar of events, dedicated to sharing our brand’s history and culture and to discovering new technological frontiers, researched and created by Automobili Lamborghini.”

The museum’s second-floor gallery was transformed into an intimate showroom for the Urus. Mitja Borkert, Automobili Lamborghini’s Head of Design and Urus sculptor, personally introduced the masterwork to notable guests which included Consul General of Italy in Miami, Cristiano Musillo, CEO of Americas Region, Automobili Lamborghini, Alessandro Farmeschi and members of the The Wolfsonian Director’s Circle.

“The Wolfsonian–FIU proudly displayed the new Lamborghini URUS, a Super Sport Utility Vehicle,” said Tim Rodgers, Director at The Wolfsonian–FIU. “This car epitomizes quality and careful attention to details, characteristics that also guide The Wolfsonian and all of it activities.”

“Lamborghini represents one of the most iconic Italian brands,” stated Cristiano Musillo, Consul General of Italy in Miami, “It’s able to blend cutting edge technology, design, attention to details, high end manufacturing. All these characteristics,” Musillo further explained, “are distinctive signs of the authentic Made in Italy, strongly tied to Italian industrial traditions.”
