An exciting winter comes to an end for Automobili Lamborghini

RELEASE DATE: 06 Mar 2023   |   Sant'Agata Bolognese

Spring 2023 sees the start of the official celebrations for the company's 60th anniversary

Sant'Agata Bolognese, 6 March 2023 - It's been a busy winter for Automobili Lamborghini, which has been clocking up kilometers on roads all over Europe. Amidst breathtaking scenery and evocative locations, the super sports cars from Sant'Agata Bolognese took on Europe's most beautiful routes through sun, rain, snow and ice, always guaranteeing the highest levels of performance and driving enjoyment.

In January a convoy of Urus Performante[1], Urus S[2], Huracán STO[3] and Huracán Tecnica[4] paraded along the snowy roads between Denmark and Sweden, delighting onlookers in the fairy-tale setting. The activity wasn’t just focused on the roar of Lamborghini engines however: as often happens during Lamborghini events, driving is combined with unique experiences that remain etched in the memory of those who experience them. The event in Scandinavia made a stop in the evocative Tower of 'The Plant', a converted factory in which containers were built for years and then transformed into a paper mill. While able to take a look at the Huracán Sterrato[5], guests were intrigued by chef Mattia Risaliti explaining the similarities between culinary art and various aspects in which absolute excellence is expressed in all its forms, a synthesis of Lamborghini's brand philosophy.

Snow-covered roads, picture-postcard landscapes and hospitality excellence were the key words at the event in Courchevel, a renowned ski resort in the French Alps. Once again, guests  were able to enjoy a driving adventure on board the Urus S and Urus Performante, combined with culinary experiences from Michelin-starred chefs. Hospitality was via one of the world's best resorts, the ultra-luxurious Le K2 Palace, part of "Le K2 Collections", reflecting the luxury features that distinguish Automobili Lamborghini in the world of super sports cars. The Hotel K2 Palace is a truly bijou resort, consisting of a main building and adjoining lodges, framed by the mountains and perfectly integrated into the landscape. The hotel and the suite-chalets overlook one of the Trois Vallèes offering incredible panoramic views. Individually decorated with fine materials inspired by the Himalayas, the rooms combine charm and modern facilities. Situated in a privileged location, close to the centre of the Courchevel 1850 district, the property maintains a high level of privacy with direct access to the slopes.

After these experiences at the end of January, the Urus Performante, Huracán STO, Huracán Tecnica and Huracán Sterrato moved to Livigno for the Accademia Neve. The participants, supervised by Lamborghini instructors, were challenged on the icy track with the opportunity to learn how to perform spectacular drifts, before inspecting the new Huracán Sterrato on static display.

The Huracán Sterrato was the protagonist in two exclusive events that hosted 30 selected customers at two venues: Altiplano, one of the two restaurants of Le K2 Palace, and the spectacular Balthazar restaurant in St. Moritz. The clients lived a full Lamborghini experience, enjoying the new car alongside sophisticated Peruvian cuisine at Altiplano, and the cuisine of two Michelin-starred chef and Andalusian singer Paco Morales in his Balthazar restaurant.

This event-full winter ended for Lamborghini in style with the presence of the Polo Storico at 'The ICE' motoring event and concours d'elegance in St. Moritz. The backdrop for the competition, in which the one-off Miura P400 S 'Millechiodi' took part, were the Engadine mountains surrounding the Swiss town and the famous frozen lake which, having shed its role as a competition field for polo matches on ice for a weekend, became a playground for the world's most beautiful classic cars. Also present were the Iron Dames from Iron Lynx for an ice driving experience at the wheel of a Miura P400 SV.

The various gatherings arranged by Lamborghini set the tone for a year of celebrations at a historic moment for the Sant'Agata Bolognese company. For its 60th anniversary Automobili Lamborghini will be involved in numerous events to celebrate this historic milestone, especially in Europe. Among these, the most imminent are Lamborghini’ s presence at the Milano Design Week and Lamborghini Day UK, both at the end of April.

Milan Design Week will feature a party in an exclusive location where, following the world premiere in Sant'Agata Bolognese, the new V12 plug-in hybrid car will be unveiled to guests, as well as cars with special anniversary liveries.

Lamborghini Day UK at Silverstone circuit will see the new V12 make its live debut in front of British clients, and a real "Lamborghini experience" will be organized: a parade of over than 300 Lamborghini supercars on the circuit and a strong representation of the story of the company, its Centro Stile, the Ad Personam Studio, the Museum and the Polo Storico and some of the most significant production areas in the Sant'Agata Bolognese plant will be recreated.
